Remove Corrosion and Prepare Surfaces in One Pass

Z Abrasives Bristle Blaster® tools provide an alternative to conventional abrasive blasting for surface preparation. Their rotary bristle technology removes corrosion, mill scale, and existing coatings while creating a textured surface suitable for subsequent coating applications.

The patented Accelerator Bar increases the impact of the rotating bristle tips against the surface. As the tips strike and retract, they remove unwanted material and create small indentations that form an anchoring surface profile.

Unlike conventional grit blasting, Bristle Blasting does not require loose abrasive media. This helps reduce the need for abrasive handling, containment, and spent-media cleanup while supporting controlled surface preparation.

Available in electric, cordless, pneumatic, axial, and hydraulic configurations, these tools accommodate different working environments. They are suitable for industrial maintenance, corrosion removal, coating preparation, and specialized applications where traditional blasting equipment may be impractical.

Find the Right Bristle Blaster for Your Application

Prepare Surfaces Without Loose Blasting Media

Bristle Blaster tools are designed for corrosion removal, coating preparation, and industrial maintenance. Their impact-based technology removes surface material while creating an anchoring profile, with manufacturer-reported cleanliness comparable to specified abrasive blasting grades under appropriate conditions.

These tools are useful for maintaining steel structures, pipelines, industrial equipment, and other surfaces requiring preparation before protective coatings. The Axial model extends these capabilities to narrow areas such as weld seams, joints, corners, and flanges.

The Bristle Blaster range also accommodates specialized working conditions. Cordless models improve mobility in hard-to-reach areas, while pneumatic configurations provide compressed-air operation. The Subsea model supports underwater maintenance and surface preparation.

An important feature of Bristle Blasting is its cold-working process, which is designed to avoid significant heating of the substrate. Combined with grit-free operation and specialized replacement belts, this approach supports controlled surface preparation across different industrial applications.
